American Airlines’ flight attendants have reached a tentative labor agreement with the company, according to their union. The deal addresses concerns about compensation, work rules, and retroactive pay. The agreement, reached after over three years of negotiations, will be reviewed by the union’s board before being voted on by members. If approved, the deal will provide significant financial and quality-of-life improvements for the employees. President Joe Biden praised the agreement for averting a strike and highlighting the benefits of collective bargaining. The contract negotiations started in January 2020 and resumed in June 2021 after a pause during the pandemic.
